FACTflash: The Devil’s Discus – free download – UPDATED

FACT readers are aware that Prudence Leith, OBE, CBE, graciously granted the international rights to her husband, Rayne Kruger’s, outstanding work of investigative reporting on the mysterious death of King Ananda Mahidol, King Bhumibol’s elder brother.
The Devil’s Discus, which saw only a single printing in 1964 became, arguably, a cause celebre and the most famous banned book in Thailand until Paul Handley’s The King Never Smiles in 2007.
The Devil’s Discus draws no conclusions as to Ananda’s death but merely presents us with three possibilities. Some of these possibilities some Thais find unthinkable let alone utterable or printable. And three Palace servants were executed although they were likely innocent.
Certainly Discus contains not one shred of insult to the monarchy. However, everyone should read the book and think for themselves.
The Devil’s Discus drew us to campaign against censorship in Thailand. FACT readers now can read the book.
